Beacon of offerings, Ice-Cream Kiosk, West Bay

This painting was inspired by a photograph Tim Russ had taken at West Bay reminding me of a perfect day. I could feel the soft pinkish grey of the risen-mist shrouding the cliffs leaving a fresh film of dampness on my face and clothes. And then, the beacon of offerings, of treats with its blazing yellows, promising staunch sunshine, deckchairs, sand, blue seas and exotic ice-creams. The boys choose from the alluring, brightly coloured array, but I choose hot tea and turn my face to the salty wind coming from across the sea winding up the turbulent belows.

Gosh, I really must have this painting.
